All LD Readers,

It has been two months since LazyDomaining was born. First month was exciting and the Second month was all the more exciting.

LD had over 3,000 visits in the second month which is double the number of first month visits. Thanks to all LD readers for making it happen.

Now that motivated me to change to a new theme. Hope this is better compared with the default one.

Have a nice day.

Regards,
Kumaran.

Google keyword tool is a handy tool for all domainers. If you haven’t used it yet, i suggest you to try it straight away. It gives a wealth of information regarding the “keywords” you are interested in.

You would have noticed the “Match Type” column which is the last column shown in the result. There are four options for the “Match Type” column – Broad, Phrase, Exact, Negative. The default is Broad. This “Match Type” is a very important option which many a times we ignore knowingly or unknowingly. This post is to remind the significance of this option and explain what each option exactly means.

Lets consider the example of the keywords “Domain Name”.

1. Broad
Statistics are shown for the either or both words “Domain” and “Name” in any order and when searched along with other words.

2. Phrase
Statistics are shown for the words “Domain Name” in the same order and when searched along with other words.

3. Exact
Statistics are shown for the exact term “Domain Name” in the same order and without any other words.

4. Negative
Statistics are shown for the term “Domain Name” minus any word(for eg. “Cheap”). Statistics won’t include searches such as Cheap Domain Name, Domain Cheap Name Domain, Domain Name Cheap.

Majority of the times you will want to use the “Exact” option.

Domain Development will add maximum value only if it reaches its logical conclusion. Whether it is a minisite or a full fledged site finally it should attain the objective of revenue generation.

If you are looking to put up a site on a domain(one which has no traffic & revenue) and try to flip it you will find very little takers who would value your development cost. It will take time and effort for the site to start earning. Be prepared for it.

Its like all or nothing scenario. Domain Development is not for everyone especially if you are looking to make a quick buck imho.

Just came across a joke. Usually i keep away from politics but this one is hilarious. No offense intended to anyone.

While visiting India , George Bush is invited to tea with Abdul Kalam. He asks Kalam what his leadership philosophy is. He says that, it is to surround himself with intelligent people.

Bush asks how he knows if they’re intelligent.

“I do so by asking them the right questions,” says Kalam. “Allow me to demonstrate.”

Bush watches as Kalam phones Manmohan Singh and says,

” Mr. Prime Minister, please answer this question:
Your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or sister. Who is it?”

Manmohan immediately responds, “It’s me, Sir !”

“Correct. Thank you and good-bye” says Kalam. He hangs
up and says,” Did you get that, Mr. Bush?”

Bush nods: “Yes Mr. President. Thanks a lot.

I’ll definitely be using that!”

Bush, upon returning to Washington, decides he’d better put Condoleezza Rice to the test. Bush summons her to the White House and says,
“Condoleezza, I wonder if you can answer a question for me.”

“Why, of course, sir. What’s on your mind?”

Bush poses the question: “Uhh, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?”

Rice was puzzled and finally asks, “Can I think about it and get back to you?” Bush agrees, and Rice leaves.

Rice immediately calls a meeting of senior senators, and they puzzle over the question for several hours, but nobody can come up with an answer. Finally,
in desperation, Rice calls Colin Powell and explains the problem.

” Mr. Powell, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?”

Powell answers immediately, “It’s me, of course.”

Much relieved, Rice rushes back to the White House, finds George Bush, and exclaims,

“I know the answer, sir! I know who it is! It’s our Colin Powell!”

And Bush replies in disgust, “Wrong,
